September 22-28, 2008

Monday Sept. 22- Jessica worked, the kids went to grandma's. Derick stayed home and tried to get work and caught up.

Tuesday Sept. 23- I worked again and Derick did have a few jobs come in. After work the kids got home we had our family night and read about our bodies and lives before coming to earth. Afterwards I thought it would be fun and a change to let the kids color on our stove with washable markers. We colored our bodies.

Notice how Derick is totally buff!

Kayda kept thinking that the marker was chap stick...

Wednesday Sept. 24- Derick left to go back hunting. He meet up with his dad to spend the last two days hunting then to break up camp and come home. The kids and I went to playgroup then I had a lunch party at work so we went. We then caught up on our shopping and naps.

That night we had a movie night. I let the kids pick out candy from walmart and we bought Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon movie. It was a fun night!

Thursday Sept. 25- We all over slept and I forgot to set the alarm clock so we missed Brock's preschool! I had a doctor's appt. that afternoon. Brock and Kayda went with me. Kayda sat on the table with me during the ultrasound and Dr. Jochim let Brock help him with the ultrasound. Brock could see the baby and had so much fun. Dr. Jochim confirmed it is a boy. So we have come up with the name Tyson.

Friday Sept. 26- Derick was not able to come home until the afternoon. So the kids got to come to gymnastics with me. Kayda had a blast! That afternoon Derick came home. He did not get anything but he found a Bull (male Elk) down that no one claimed. So after a day (by then the meet is to bad to take) Derick was able to bring home the antlers. Look at how big they are. How would you like to carry these on your head?

That night Jessica had to go into work. Yeah I forgot how hard it is to work nights.

Saturday Sept. 27- Jess slept most of the morning after work. Derick and the kids washed and detailed the cars. That night Jess had to work again... So nothing really fun happened.

Sunday Sept. 28- After church Derick and Jessica were to meet with the stake pres. But because Jessica had to work all night and I could bearly keep my eyes open to drive home we rescheduled our apt. Derick and the kids went to church. We have just a few more weeks until Kayda can go to nursery. We can't wait!! After church and naps we decide to make cookies. We made sugar cookies and let Brock learn what happens when you mix different colors.

That night we went over to Derick's parents for a Roast Dinner! It was nice to not have to cook and clean up!

P.S. As I was leaving for work Monday morining I went to check on the kids. They both sleep in Brock's bed. This is how I found them both asleep...

Oh my dear little boy...

I am documenting this for future knowledge. Today my little 4 year old Brock decided he would try and trick mom and dad to get what he wanted. Mom had to work tonight so we had dinner and read our scriptures early. Brock was outside playing with our neighbor's 4 year old boy. The were being very good. We told Brock it was time to come in and eat. He had no complaints. It kinda of struck me as odd to not have him fight with us about coming in. We ate and read our scriptures. We read about not telling lies. Afterwards we said our prayers mom got ready for work and Derick and the kids were getting ready to make cookies for the desert. Brock told us he left his sword outside and asked if he could go get it. So we let him. I finished getting ready, Derick changed Kayda's clothes. After awhile we both noticed that Brock was not back. I poked my head out and did not see him anywhere. I did not freak because we knew right where he went. Brock had gone back over to the neighbor's house. He was inside playing video games with them. Derick went over and got him. He told the mom that it was ok with us that he was there. (he has been allowed to go over in the past.) Derick ask why he lied and he told us he knew if he asked we would say no, so that is why. Poor guy. He had to sit on the couch and watch Daddy and Kayda make cookies. (mom left for work) But hopefully he learned his lesson.

The after shock...

We got back Wed. 17 night late. I had to work Thursday so Derick had the kids all day! By the way this was the first day that he had them by himself with out his parents around to help him. He did a good job I only got called about 20 times...
Friday I woke up not feeling my best but being pregnant and just finishing a 13 hour shift the day before I did not think anything of it. So we went to my friend Tina's house for lunch and so that Derick could fix her leaking faucet. Later that day I just got worse... That night things did not get better. I tried to go to bed to sleep it off but could not get to sleep because I had really bad pain in my tummy. Well it was too high up to be the baby. Then I came to think about it a remembered that I did not void all day long! So knowing that I need to be rehyrdated for the baby's protection we decided to go to the ER. I had not been able to keep anything down all day. After getting there and the doctor doing his check up on me ordered all kinds of test. I started to get worried. Well after 7 hours of the ER they did blood test, urine test (the had to stick a tube in my bladder to get some because I was not making any on my own... yeah not fun) and two different kinds of ultrasounds. They found that I had 3 kidney stones blocking my urine. Because I was pregnant I was not allowed any pain meds. I have had stones before and the pain was unbearable. Well again the pain was REALLY REALLY bad. So I kinda just had to tough it out. This did not make a nice end to my vacation! Derick then took the kids back up camping for the weekend and I SLEPT all day everyday this weekend! It was nice. Today (Monday) I am still very swore but back to work.

But we did find out the sex of the baby.... IT'S A BOY!!

Our Hunting Trip!

We left for our hunting trip Thursday 11. Our plans were to leave in the morning but we did not make it out of there till about 4pm. I had everything pack but Derick's dad had some problems come up with his house phone so he spent all day on the phone! Well after we got off we meet our friend John at camp at set up then all went to bed! The next morning was first day of the season and our friend John got his cow first thing that morning!!

This is Brock with his bow and arrow! He told everyone that he shot it! He is so cute!

She ran down into a canyon so we had a hard time getting her out. Thank goodness we have a quad!

My sister Nicki drove down from Utah to go with us. Brock LOVED having her there.

We had the whole Forest to play in and my kids played in the dog kennel!

Yes I did dress them alike!

Kayda fell on the second day we were there and gave herself a black eye!

Here is Grandpa Coco and Brock eating peanut butter cake. That Grandma made for us.

Derick got mad that I took this because my phone flashed and could have scared the elk away...

You know the song "Mary had a Little Lamb" Well we changed the words to Kayda had little dogs. Because all 8 dogs followed her EVERYWHERE at camp. Even when she napped. Kayda has a bad habit of feeding the dogs anything she can get a hold of.

Grandpa took Brock out hunting with him. Brock is still learning how to be quite...

He had to make sure he took his cookies with him.

This is the head of the arrow that we shoot the Elk with.

When we drove back into the hunting area we went maybe 5 MPH because the guys were looking for the elk. So to help keep Brock quite we rode in the back. And if you look in the picture above you will see that even while we were up camping Brock has his cell phone with him!

Here is Derick sitting and waiting... We never got one. But we are going up Wed. to get the camper and pack up so Derick will have one more day to try!

September 1-7, 2008

Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 - Jessica and Derick worked all day. The kids got to spend the day and night with grandpa and grandma. Brock did not have school because of the Holiday. Not much else happened!

Wednesday 3 - Jessica was able to get a little got up on housework. That afternoon was Brock's new gymnastics glass. He was moved to beginner boys. His class starts a 4 pm which is his usually time to nap.

So on the way there he napped. It was nice to sit and watch him and not have to teach!
Later that night we made steaks for dinner. Brock has become a great cook! He helps me cook dinner every night! After dinner and baths we made brownies...

They ate most of the mix before we could get it in the oven!
After that we watched movies that we rented. I was so excited because I was able to get all of Kayda's hair into one pony tail!

Thursday 4- Brock has school so mom and Kayda went to grandpa's to wait for him. I left early to get gas but it did not take as long as I thought and I was early to pick him up. So I got to watch him do his art project. They learned what happens when you mix colors. They did this by playing in shaving cream! I think I will try this trick for a playgroup.

After school we went back to grandpa's for lunch and to hang out. Kayda found a bucket and made herself at home!

Friday 5- Jessica had to teach gymnastics then headed off to the hospital to work the rest of the day. I think this will be one of the last extra days I have to work for awhile.

Saturday 6- Derick and I are going hunting next week so Derick went out to our shed to get our camio's. Well we never thought this would happen because the shed is raised off the ground and has a floor. But somehow it had flooded. Well all of our camio's were in a large duffel bag on the floor. We found that white mushrooms can grow on camios it was SO gross! Derick got out our power washer and sprayed all the clothes off. Then we washed them twice in the hottest water that our washer would go. We they came out really clean. The good news... I got all new shirts! The bad news... Derick will need to buy some new shirts! They all shrunk! I am glad that we do not have to buy all new stuff because they can get very expensive!

After our wonderful morning we went out to Derick's parents to get the camper ready. We took the puppies with us since we were planing on staying the night. Derick got held up in Cottonwood so while we waited for him Brock, Grandpa, and I gave all 5 puppies a bath in Kayda's pool!

The poor little things looked like drowned rats! When we were all done. But they no longer smell!
Kayda found Grandpa's back massage pad and started pushing buttons and it turned on. SHE LOVED IT! She sat there for 30 minutes which is a long time for Kayda to be still.

Then the wonderful grandparents that they are got them a present! They got it really cheap up at the rummage sale for the special Olympics... (FYI Derick's sister is mentally handicap)

Brock thinks he is in Heaven now he has one just like daddy! (Don't worry they both have helmets and Brock is not allowed to go faster then Daddy can walk while Kayda is on.)

Sunday 7- We stayed the night in the camper and the kids LOVED it. That morning we slept in a missed the Camp Verde ward. So we did a little lesson of our own. After that Derick and Brock got the pressure washer out and washed all the cars! Thanks Boys! They look great.

We then spent rest of the day getting everything else ready to go hunting!! Jessica and Derick have to work Monday to Wednesday and we are scheduled to leave Thursday. So this weekend was the only time we had to get ready to go. I am so glad to be taking a camper up there! It will be way better then a tent. We will be there for 8 days!!! I can not wait!

Labor Day weekend at the Cabin!!!

Friday 29- We went to gymnastics in the morning then spent rest of the day packing and getting ready to go to the Cabin with the Rice's! I just love the cabin it is about 20 miles outside of Payson up in the middle of NOWHERE! It rained all weekend but it was still nice to sit out on the hammock and watch the rain. Plus it always smells so good. The kids had a blast! It was muddy so they all were in Heaven. The Rice's brought all of the kids so Brock had 4 other biys to play with. Jenni and Chris were there and Brock kept talking about how much fun Ava was and how cute she was. Jessica had to be back to work Monday morning so we left Sunday night. Everyone else left Monday afternoon. I can't wait to go again. Just to be out in of Cottonwood!

THANK YOU JENNI AND CHRIS WE LOVED THIS WEEKEND!!!!
